Jaap Geenen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Weiss having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Hajo Scholze managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moselkern's supporters rose to their feet, but Hajo Scholze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur Weiss breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Hajo Scholze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur Weiss was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Arthur Weiss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Andre Anders might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Kalb. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andre Anders ran back to his position shaking his head. The Wehretal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Moselkern were winning 0-2.
The wind increased when Andre Anders made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Wehretal's goalkeeper Arthur Weiss had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hajo Scholze. Jörn Blassel's late challenge caught a Wehretal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jörn Blassel helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Moselkern's Jörn Blassel got a free kick in the 54th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaap Geenen in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arthur Weiss saved Wehretal from getting behind. Leo Kotthaus charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leo Kotthaus the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Wehretal's Leo Kotthaus got a free kick in the 61st minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Moselkern eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
