The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Matthäus Eggenfeld was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ronald Sieger charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ronald Sieger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, Ronald Sieger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enno Sasss short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Horst Dürr to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 20th minute, Nikolaus Cayrol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Hawaii fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Paulus Fechner helped the player get up and apologised. Matthäus Eggenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Werner Korff, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nikolaus Cayrol in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matthäus Eggenfeld prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Werner Korff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthäus Eggenfeld having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Till-Julius Vogt made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vogelbeck's goalkeeper Matthäus Eggenfeld, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jens Werlich charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Matthäus Eggenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulus Fechner, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Matthäus Eggenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Werner Korff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Horst Dürr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Till-Julius Vogt in the 85th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FC Hawaii's Oscar Däschner got a free kick in the 86th minute. If Werner Korff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Vogelbeck fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Hawaii were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
