Galatasaray's Lars Forster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Köppen in the 7th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Alexander Andelfinger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kajus Kuhnert was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Lars Forster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernst Kage, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Noah Mintzel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 19 minutes into the match, Wanne FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Noah Mintzel came free, but Kajus Kuhnert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernst Kage to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Josip Jarosch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wanne FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galatasaray the free kick. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when Wanne FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josip Jarosch didn't get a good kick on the ball.
