In the 19th minute Viktor Stehmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Thimm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Flohburg FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Viktor Stehmer was slow to take the kick. During this time Lechia 1945 FFM's players had a chance to rest. Jürgen Bonesky made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Sascha-Andreas Rühl sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Flohburg FC booed when Lechia 1945 FFM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gideon Leuschner didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Flohburg FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aydin Bischoff came free, but Daniel Thimm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viktor Stehmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Lechia 1945 FFM's Aydin Bischoff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daniel Thimm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Flohburg FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aydin Bischoff came free, but Daniel Thimm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 42 minutes, Gideon Leuschner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lechia 1945 FFM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gideon Leuschner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Steffen Steigelmann charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Steffen Steigelmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Flohburg FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aydin Bischoff was the one to do the kick off. Johan Heupel tried in the game's 52nd match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Daniel Thimm. An annoying self made goal, 0-1. A collision led to Flohburg FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Johan Heupel hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Viktor Stehmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lechia 1945 FFM's supporters rose to their feet, but Viktor Stehmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Thimm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Thimm made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Viktor Stehmer sent off a good shot on target. Sascha-Andreas Rühl scored 1-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jürgen Bonesky, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Viktor Stehmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Daniel Thimm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enno Renn during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hans-Joachim Graf kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Flohburg FC's zone, Gideon Leuschner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Thimm came out of the goal and Gideon Leuschner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Flohburg FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lechia 1945 FFM were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
