Carsten Gaertner took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carsten Dresdner. Greifswald's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hallthurm's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fritz Ernst Schabert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 38 minutes into the match, Hallthurm's goal looked a bit too open when Fritz Ernst Schabert came free, but Tim-Sebastian Scheiler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hallthurm's Bernhardt Schnitzler in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Chris Krautmann fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hallthurm's protests and gave Chris Krautmann a yellow card for diving instead. Chris Krautmann kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Greifswald's Fritz Ernst Schabert got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Hallthurm's Bernhardt Schnitzler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carsten Dresdner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th match minute, Hallthurm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernhardt Schnitzler to maneuver through the defense. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tim-Sebastian Scheiler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 98 minutes into the game, Leo Hasselberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Greifswald's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hallthurm the free kick. A collision led to Greifswald getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Leo Hasselberg hit a great ball.
