Dennis Kapteina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lothar Koschorrek in the 7th minute. After having played for 11 minutes, Lothar Koschorrek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wiedel FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lothar Koschorrek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel-Benjamin Hörholdt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Bärwolf having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Matthias Sitter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mustafa Bärwolf was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 18 played minutes Niedergrützenbach FSV got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Fielmann. Dennis Kapteina made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Tommy Krämer sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Wiedel FSV booed when Niedergrützenbach FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Grasser didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Wiedel FSV's Tommy Krämer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dennis Kapteina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Niedergrützenbach FSV's Dennis Kapteina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Niedergrützenbach FSV from getting a goal against them. 40 minutes into the game, Björn Grasser was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Niedergrützenbach FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wiedel FSV the free kick. In the 41st match minute, Niedergrützenbach FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn Grasser to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Krämer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Dennis Kapteina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel-Benjamin Hörholdt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dennis Kapteina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Krämer in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel-Benjamin Hörholdt in the 62nd minute of play forced Wiedel FSV's goalkeeper Mustafa Bärwolf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 64 minutes, Frank-Dieter Alen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Niedergrützenbach FSV and the Wiedel FSV players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th minute, Frank-Dieter Alen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 68 played minutes Niedergrützenbach FSV got a freekick which was hit by Nikolaus Weyers. Ansgar Olbrich didn't quite understand what happened when in the 69 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Dennis Kapteina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Krämer in the 73rd minute of play. Dennis Kapteina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Krämer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matthias Sitters short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Mustafa Bärwolf to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tommy Krämer in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dennis Kapteina saved Niedergrützenbach FSV from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Wiedel FSV's zone, Matthias Sitter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mustafa Bärwolf came out of the goal and Matthias Sitter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dennis Kapteina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tommy Krämer's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Peter Veigel charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Peter Veigel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Wiedel FSV getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Peter Veigel hit a great ball. Niedergrützenbach FSV's Nikolaus Weyers shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 93rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Mustafa Bärwolf but with some difficulty. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Niedergrützenbach FSV walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
