Engbüttel's Frank Quacken started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Quacken in the 4th minute of play forced Vaerloh's goalkeeper Peter Petters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vaerloh's goalkeeper Peter Petters, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Vaerloh's Glenn Reiner got a free kick in the 6th minute. When Emanuel Frankfurter came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Vaerloh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Frankfurter couldn't finish the play. Herbert Lehmann struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Peter Petters didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Engbüttel. Engbüttel's Ole Burkhardt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Frankfurter in the 22nd minute of play. Vaerloh's Peter Petters proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Vaerloh from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Scott Brehm during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vaerloh:s Peter Petters showed great skill when he stopped Alexander Merseburger:s penalty. In the 29th minute, Alexander Merseburger made a precise shot to the right of Peter Petters. Vaerloh's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 33 minutes into the match, Vaerloh's goalkeeper Peter Petters had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herbert Lehmann. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Theodor Thieringer to strike the kick off in the second half. Emanuel Frankfurter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ole Burkhardt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 minutes, Glenn Reiner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vaerloh and the Engbüttel players grew even worse after the yellow card. Herbert Lehmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Quacken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Peter Petters tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Engbüttel's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
