The supporters of Ecking booed when Quelitz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascal Öhlmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute Timo-Fabian Korth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Werner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th match minute, Quelitz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pascal Öhlmann to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Maluga in the 16th minute of play forced Quelitz's goalkeeper Björn Werner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Jan-Nicolas Klingemann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Werner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefan-Benjamin Estler might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven Deisler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stefan-Benjamin Estler ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stefan-Benjamin Estler got free with Sven Deisler in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Quelitz's Arne Goldmann dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, Ecking's goalkeeper Sven Deisler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stefan-Benjamin Estler. After having played for 36 minutes, Arne Goldmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quelitz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Goldmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Björn Werner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timo-Fabian Korth in the 38th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Jan-Nicolas Klingemann made a precise shot to the right of Björn Werner. Quelitz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Timo-Fabian Korth to make the kick off. A collision led to Ecking getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Jan-Nicolas Klingemann hit a great ball. Arne Goldmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Deisler having to interfere. Björn Werner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan-Nicolas Klingemann in the 56th minute. Björn Werner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan-Nicolas Klingemann went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 61st minute, Pascal Öhlmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jan-Nicolas Klingemann was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 62 minutes had been played. Björn Werner was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Chris Maluga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Chris Maluga really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. If Stefan-Benjamin Estler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th match minute, Ecking was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Maluga to maneuver through the defense. Quelitz's Arne Goldmann got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stefan-Benjamin Estler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of Ecking echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Quelitz had held the ball for most of the match.
