When Ergün Molau came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the CA Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ergün Molau couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the game, CA Boca Juniors's Louis Rittel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Balthasar Fontagnier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tim Rabe in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcel Forberger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Louis Rittel kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Marcel Forberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yildiray Abend, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Ergün Molau who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Balthasar Fontagnier when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Balthasar Fontagnier was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Ergün Molau capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ergün Molau really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After a rather tough play, CA Boca Juniors's Christoph Hensel got a free kick in the 36th minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Louis Rittel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louis Rittel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Louis Rittel came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the CA Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Rittel couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ergün Molau in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Balthasar Fontagnier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ergün Molau was the one to do the kick off. If Christoph Hensel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tobias Schmitt-Illert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Uwe Hinsken's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Balthasar Fontagnier was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. If Tobias Schmitt-Illert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CA Boca Juniors's Marcel Forberger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save CA Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. Balthasar Fontagnier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uwe Hinsken in the 83rd minute of play. When CA Boca Juniors's Uwe Hinsken in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Marcel Forberger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tim Rabe went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. CA Boca Juniors had played much better football throughout.
