Tim Rabe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute Stefan-Benjamin Estler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Balthasar Fontagnier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Goldmann in the 25th minute of play forced Renfert FC's goalkeeper Balthasar Fontagnier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tim Rabe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Björn Werner made a huge save. If Yildiray Abend had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Renfert FC's Balthasar Fontagnier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Goldmann in the 36th minute of play. Yildiray Abend received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Björn Werner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stefan-Benjamin Estler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 46th minute, Tim Rabe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yildiray Abend was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Goldmann in the 64th minute of play forced Renfert FC's goalkeeper Balthasar Fontagnier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fortunato Hester's late challenge caught a Quelitz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fortunato Hester helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th match minute, Renfert FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fortunato Hester to maneuver through the defense. Arne Goldmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Balthasar Fontagnier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arne Goldmann ran back to his position shaking his head. Arne Goldmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Balthasar Fontagnier having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Maximilian-Michael Mehlbaum was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quelitz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Renfert FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Quelitz's Maximilian-Michael Mehlbaum got a free kick in the 77th minute. Stefan-Benjamin Estler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Balthasar Fontagnier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Balthasar Fontagnier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arne Goldmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Stefan-Benjamin Estler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Renfert FC's Balthasar Fontagnier got control of the ball when Stefan-Benjamin Estler tried to sneak it across the goal line. Quelitz's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
