Keith Klanthe charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Keith Klanthe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The long shot by Nico-Pascal Bader in the 11th minute really tested Jakob Berrang's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in SpVgg Mittelfranken 73's zone, Sascha-Andreas Hepp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jakob Berrang came out of the goal and Sascha-Andreas Hepp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ellbach FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Carsten Kleiner hit a great ball. Torben Bosch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudius van Essen, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 19th minute, but Jakob Berrang got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving SpVgg Mittelfranken 73 hanging dry this time. 20 minutes into the match, SpVgg Mittelfranken 73's goalkeeper Jakob Berrang had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sascha-Andreas Hepp. If Keith Klanthe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudius van Essen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sascha-Andreas Hepp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Jakob Berrang made a huge save. Johannes Faller kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Torben Bosch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urs Mahne, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the game, Johannes Faller was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ellbach FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SpVgg Mittelfranken 73 the free kick. 42 minutes into the game, SpVgg Mittelfranken 73's Keith Klanthe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Torben Bosch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Sascha-Andreas Hepp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jakob Berrang having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Jakob Berrang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sascha-Andreas Hepp, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Torben Bosch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudius van Essen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 56 minutes, Claudius van Essen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SpVgg Mittelfranken 73's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudius van Essen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Keith Klanthe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Urs Mahne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute Sascha-Andreas Hepp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jakob Berrang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudius van Essen in the 69th minute of play forced Ellbach FC's goalkeeper Torben Bosch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Torben Bosch was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Claudius van Essen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Claudius van Essen really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. 77 minutes in the game, Claudius van Essen fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Torben Bosch having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, SpVgg Mittelfranken 73 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith Klanthe to maneuver through the defense. Claudius van Essen in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
