Leo Kerber didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thorsten Vollmer went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After 9 minutes of play, Ellar FSV's Marcel Felchle made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomas Thiel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leo Kerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johann Webermann in the 13th minute of play. Mel Windhausen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Thomas Thiel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leo Kerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johann Webermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Mel Windhausen made a precise shot to the right of Thomas Thiel. Buchenberg FSV's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Thomas Thiel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Felchle in the 23rd minute of play. If Mel Windhausen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Felchle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Thomas Thiel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Ellar FSV's Leo Kerber got control of the ball when Thorsten Vollmer tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Mel Windhausen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Felchle in the 46th minute of play forced Buchenberg FSV's goalkeeper Thomas Thiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johann Webermann struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Leo Kerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buchenberg FSV. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Johann Webermann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Buchenberg FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Mel Windhausen came free, but Thomas Thiel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mel Windhausen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Thiel having to interfere. In the 62ndth minute of the game Mel Windhausen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buchenberg FSV's Thomas Thiel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Johann Webermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mel Windhausen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leo Kerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johann Webermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Johann Webermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Ellar FSV's Christopher Sieger got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 89th minute, Thorsten Vollmer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Ellar FSV supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ellar FSV would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
