After a defensive mix-up in Hommersum FC's zone, Jochen Mothe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mischa Freud came out of the goal and Jochen Mothe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Götz Zötzsche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Ilmsdorf's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Götz Zötzsche fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Götz Zötzsche in the 34th minute of play forced Ilmsdorf's goalkeeper Achim May to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otto-Stephan Gölz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achim May having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Ilmsdorf's Felix Baumann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mischa Freud narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 39th match minute, Ilmsdorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn Hübner to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Schwede in the 41st minute of play forced Ilmsdorf's goalkeeper Achim May to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hommersum FC's goalkeeper Mischa Freud, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mischa Freud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felix Baumann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Ilmsdorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Eberhardt to maneuver through the defense. Angel Schwede took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Achim May. Ilmsdorf's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 58th match minute, Hommersum FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reimo Pechkopf to maneuver through the defense. Ilmsdorf's Achim May played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otto-Stephan Gölz in the 86th minute of play.
