In the 15th minute, Wendelin Habel made a precise shot to the right of Joachim Sterk. Buchhalde's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Wendelin Habel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joachim Sterk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. In the 29th minute, Wendelin Habel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Günter Wright fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bornheim FC's protests and gave Günter Wright a yellow card for diving instead. Joachim Sterk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wendelin Habel in the 35th minute of the match. Leon Fassbinder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Buchhalde players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bornheim FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wendelin Habel to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Wendelin Habel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Sterk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Buchhalde's Maxi Mack got a free kick in the 61st minute. Wendelin Habel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Joachim Sterk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wendelin Habel in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joachim Sterk saved Buchhalde from getting behind. Wendelin Habel's late challenge caught a Buchhalde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wendelin Habel helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bornheim FC's Wendelin Habel got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Wendelin Habel came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Bornheim FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wendelin Habel couldn't finish the play. 73 minutes into the game, Jan-Moritz Buchberger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buchhalde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bornheim FC the free kick. Jan-Moritz Buchberger hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After 77 minutes of play, Bornheim FC's Wendelin Habel made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joachim Sterk was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 85th play minute Wendelin Habel came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Joachim Sterk. 0-3. When Wendelin Habel came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Bornheim FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wendelin Habel couldn't finish the play. The Buchhalde supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bornheim FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Bornheim FC.
