Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Valérien Jahnke started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the game, DORTMUND's Murat Grotthaus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beat Holtmann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 10 minutes, Murat Grotthaus made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rübeer's Beat Holtmann tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rübeer's goalkeeper Beat Holtmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of DORTMUND booed when Rübeer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bülent Ehrmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Murat Grotthaus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Beat Holtmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Beat Holtmann was a little too slow when Murat Grotthaus got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 4-0. Murat Grotthaus did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 5-0 to the left of a surprised Beat Holtmann 28 minutes into the match. If Murat Grotthaus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valérien Jahnke in the 36th minute of play forced DORTMUND's goalkeeper Kevin Gottmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murat Grotthaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beat Holtmann having to interfere. With a little luck, Rübeer's Beat Holtmann got control of the ball when Murat Grotthaus tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Yadulla Färäcov came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the DORTMUND fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yadulla Färäcov couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Murat Grotthaus sped through Rübeer's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Beat Holtmann. In the 61st minute, Yadulla Färäcov made a precise shot to the right of Beat Holtmann. Rübeer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. If Murat Grotthaus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baptist Berlingen hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 68th match minute, Rübeer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baptist Berlingen to maneuver through the defense. Vitus Stollmann kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Yadulla Färäcov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beat Holtmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. With a little luck, DORTMUND's Kevin Gottmann got control of the ball when Ronald Baumgartner tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vitus Stollmann hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, DORTMUND's goal looked a bit too open when Valérien Jahnke came free, but Kevin Gottmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roland Quabeck kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Eckard Pohl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Rübeer:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of DORTMUND:s goal. The referee gave DORTMUND a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ronnie Hinrichsen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rübeer's Beat Holtmann. 10-0.
