An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Popp in the 14th minute of play forced Tuttendorf's goalkeeper Karol Baumbach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kesten fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! Vince Van Halssbeeck had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Paul Lütkebohmert's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Karol Baumbach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stellan Sundling, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Gavin Päzel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kurt Illgner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karol Baumbach having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tuttendorf's zone, Stellan Sundling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karol Baumbach came out of the goal and Stellan Sundling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Kurt Illgner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kesten's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Illgner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kesten's Kurt Illgner got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Kesten booed when Tuttendorf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Werner Frei didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Kesten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johannes Popp to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Paul Lütkebohmert from long distance, 34 minutes into the match, got Vince Van Halssbeeck's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Axel Fiedler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Stellan Sundling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karol Baumbach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Tuttendorf players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kesten were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Stellan Sundling made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Tuttendorf's zone, Axel Fiedler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karol Baumbach came out of the goal and Axel Fiedler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th match minute, Tuttendorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norman Dubrau to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stellan Sundling in the 59th minute of play forced Tuttendorf's goalkeeper Karol Baumbach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johannes Popp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karol Baumbach having to make a save. Kesten's Vince Van Halssbeeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zlatko Palupski in the 62nd minute of play. Tuttendorf's Zlatko Palupski got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vince Van Halssbeeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zlatko Palupski in the 64th minute of play. 71 minutes into the game, Kesten's Axel Fiedler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karol Baumbach made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Vince Van Halssbeeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zlatko Palupski in the 74th minute of play. When Stellan Sundling came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Kesten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stellan Sundling couldn't finish the play. If Stellan Sundling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rutger Cornelißen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Karol Baumbach successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tuttendorf's Zlatko Palupski suffered a fractured collar bone after 87 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Johannes Popp's late challenge caught a Tuttendorf's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Johannes Popp helped the player get up and apologised. Tuttendorf's Freddi Bode was substituted for Zlatko Palupski. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heiko Schiersand in the 92nd minute of play forced Kesten's goalkeeper Vince Van Halssbeeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kesten's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
