Tomáš Kovács didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jones Wakefield went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Tomáš Kovács showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petr Hanák, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, FK Havirov's Jiří Hořínek got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Arnold Slunečko shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albertino Alcântara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Mezera during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Slovan Prešov getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Martin Mezera hit a great ball. Tomáš Kovács took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petr Hanák, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, FK Havirov's Tomáš Kovács threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Petr Hanák, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Petr Hanák came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the FK Havirov fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petr Hanák couldn't finish the play. Albertino Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Fajfr, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Tomáš Kovács made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jones Wakefield in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petr Hanák stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Slovan Prešov's Pavel Fajfr got a free kick in the 54th minute. When Jiří Hořínek fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FK Havirov's protests and gave Jiří Hořínek a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute of the match, Martin Mezera tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Albertino Alcântara saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jones Wakefield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jones Wakefield in the 86th minute of play forced Slovan Prešov's goalkeeper Tomáš Kovács to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomáš Kovács showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petr Hanák in the 94th minute of the match. In the 98th minute, Jones Wakefield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FK Havirov fully deserved thier win.
