FC Petikozly's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Slovan Prešov the free kick. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Petikozly! Jaroslav Spáčil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Mezera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 24 in the game by Pavel Fajfr from a close distance when the talented Jaroslav Spáčil managed to make a qualified save. FC Petikozly's players were relieved. Jaroslav Spáčil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Mezera, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Tomáš Hořava took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomáš Kovács. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kazimír Karala in the 34th minute of play forced Slovan Prešov's goalkeeper Tomáš Kovács to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kazimír Karala in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomáš Kovács saved Slovan Prešov from getting behind. 43 minutes into the match, Slovan Prešov's goal looked a bit too open when Kazimír Karala came free, but Tomáš Kovács reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomáš Kovács showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kazimír Karala, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

After 52 minutes, Arnold Slunečko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Slovan Prešov and the FC Petikozly players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Slovan Prešov's Tomáš Kovács got control of the ball when Kazimír Karala tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Slovan Prešov booed when FC Petikozly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pavel Seifert didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Petikozly's Jaroslav Spáčil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Fajfr in the 65th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, FC Petikozly's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Mezera came free, but Jaroslav Spáčil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Petikozly's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kazimír Karala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Petikozly supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Petikozly would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
