Volovka's Karel Toufar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergej Povolný in the 82nd minute of play. Hans Krňávek struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Michal Kmoch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Volovka. René Kolín might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michal Kmoch. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. René Kolín ran back to his position shaking his head. Volovka's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
