The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Niklesdorf's Miroslav Křístek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Konvička in the 6th minute of play. Svatoslav Trubač sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Svatoslav Trubač's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Zlatko Hvězda skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 16th minute, Jaromír Opluštil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, FK Melk's Patrik Šich tried to score from far away in the 16th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 19thth minute of the game Jindřich Drábek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Niklesdorf's Miroslav Křístek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jan Konvička sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Jindřich Drábek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FK Melk booed when Niklesdorf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Svatoslav Trubač didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jan Konvička came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the FK Melk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Konvička couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the match, FK Melk's goal looked a bit too open when Jiří Matocha came free, but Zlatko Hvězda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Svatoslav Trubač sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jiří Matocha struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Zlatko Hvězda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Niklesdorf. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jiří Matocha in the 66th minute of play forced FK Melk's goalkeeper Zlatko Hvězda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th match minute, Niklesdorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Jankovský to maneuver through the defense. Miroslav Křístek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Kramoliš, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Konvička sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FK Melk's Zlatko Hvězda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svatoslav Trubač in the 83rd minute of play. Jiří Matocha's late challenge caught a FK Melk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jiří Matocha helped the player get up and apologised. Jiří Matocha hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Jindřich Drábek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
