Zdeněk Smutný breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 8 minutes into the match, FC Hyskow's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Bečica came free, but Zdeněk Smutný reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Václav Rakaš hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Josef Bečica came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the AC Metzling fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josef Bečica couldn't finish the play. In the 11th match minute, FC Hyskow was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miroslav Spěváček to maneuver through the defense. When Lubomír Kulich came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the FC Hyskow fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lubomír Kulich couldn't finish the play. Josef Bečica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Zdeněk Smutný tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Hyskow's goalkeeper Zdeněk Smutný, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 29 minutes, Václav Rakaš mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Hyskow and the AC Metzling players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lubomír Kulich in the 35th minute of play forced AC Metzling's goalkeeper Vojtěch Javůrek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Josef Bečica managed to get in a good position for a shot. The audience was convinced that Josef Bečica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zdeněk Smutný was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Karel Rathouský fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zdeněk Smutný having to interfere. FC Hyskow's Zdeněk Smutný played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Bečica in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Hyskow's goalkeeper Zdeněk Smutný, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. AC Metzling's Vojtěch Javůrek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Jošt in the 88th minute of play. FC Hyskow's Lubomír Kulich got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Lubomír Kulich ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vojtěch Javůrek was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
