The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, FC Colo - Colo's Viorel Bercea got control of the ball when Roman Andrýsek tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 9th minute of the match Czechia Hradec Králové got a corner. FC Colo - Colo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Přemek Tomanec ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Jan Trochta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Viorel Bercea quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Czechia Hradec Králové's Přemek Tomanec got a free kick in the 11th minute. After 14 minutes of play, Czechia Hradec Králové's Roman Andrýsek made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viorel Bercea was left in no man's land by his defense there! 17 minutes into the match, FC Colo - Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Trochta came free, but Viorel Bercea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Czechia Hradec Králové's Tomáš Jagoš sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Viorel Bercea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomáš Jagoš during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC Colo - Colo booed when Czechia Hradec Králové was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomáš Jagoš didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Rytíř fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nodar Gol having to interfere. Czechia Hradec Králové's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonard Kobylka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roman Andrýsek in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Viorel Bercea, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 36th minute Martin Rytíř shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nodar Gol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Czechia Hradec Králové's Přemek Tomanec got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonard Kobylka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roman Andrýsek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Bercea having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Leonard Kobylka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Czechia Hradec Králové's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Kobylka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viorel Bercea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomáš Jagoš in the 66th minute of play forced FC Colo - Colo's goalkeeper Viorel Bercea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roman Andrýsek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viorel Bercea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Andrýsek in the 75th minute of the match. If Tomáš Jagoš had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Leonard Kobylka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Czechia Hradec Králové's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Kobylka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
