Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Conan Dresner took the kick off in the first half of the match. 7 minutes into the game, Newton Theissen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leutmerken HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schaftelen the free kick. After 7 played minutes Leutmerken HC got a freekick which was hit by Newton Theissen. 11 minutes into the match, Leutmerken HC's goal looked a bit too open when Stephen Lajoie came free, but Antonio Neeser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Birger Bernet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerald Helmholz having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Schaftelen's zone, Conan Dresner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerald Helmholz came out of the goal and Conan Dresner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Axel Eggenberger's late challenge caught a Schaftelen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Axel Eggenberger helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd match minute, Leutmerken HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Eggenberger to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Leutmerken HC's goal looked a bit too open when Stephen Lajoie came free, but Antonio Neeser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Schaftelen getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Pedro Keller hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Hauke Bossardt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schaftelen's supporters rose to their feet, but Hauke Bossardt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Neeser breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 42 minutes into the match, Schaftelen's goalkeeper Gerald Helmholz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Birger Bernet. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Leutmerken HC's Conan Dresner got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Conan Dresner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stephen Lajoie's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Antonio Neeser skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Stephen Lajoie came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Schaftelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stephen Lajoie couldn't finish the play. 79 minutes into the match, Leutmerken HC's goal looked a bit too open when Hauke Bossardt came free, but Antonio Neeser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Birger Bernet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Schaftelen's Gerald Helmholz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conan Dresner in the 88th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Schaftelen walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
