Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Cortascio's Matthew Brousse started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, one of Ernen:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Cortascio. Oliver Dubach stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gordon Fah. 1-0. The supporters of Cortascio booed when Ernen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaromir Cicchetti didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Harvey Gier kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gordon Fah. That made the score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. Gordon Fah made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Rodrigue Bachmann sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthew Brousse in the 19th minute of play forced Ernen's goalkeeper Gordon Fah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gauthier Stauber during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 22 minutes into the match, Ernen's Frankl Acklin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Nicola Zeyer fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ernen's protests and gave Nicola Zeyer a yellow card for diving instead. Gordon Fah took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Brousse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anders Zwyssig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthieu Bayer having to interfere. Ingo Wiler might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gordon Fah. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ingo Wiler ran back to his position shaking his head. Gordon Fah made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigue Bachmann in the 35th minute. Frankl Acklin hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Anders Zwyssig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ernen's Jaromir Cicchetti quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ingo Wiler, made in the 44th minute of the game. When Anders Zwyssig came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ernen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anders Zwyssig couldn't finish the play. Ernen's Frankl Acklin got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anders Zwyssig was the one to do the kick off. Gordon Fah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavin Aregger in the 53rd minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ernen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! Gordon Fah took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gavin Aregger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ingo Wiler kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Ernen's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigue Bachmann came free, but Gordon Fah reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigue Bachmann in the 95th minute of play forced Ernen's goalkeeper Gordon Fah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cortascio's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
