Wildhaus's Christoph Wy got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fertus Fresnos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Jenny in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th match minute, New York City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvio Rusterholz to maneuver through the defense. Marcus Franceschini's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Fertus Fresnos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Marcus Franceschini who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Fertus Fresnos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 25 minutes into the match, Wildhaus's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Kamarche came free, but Jose Murray reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Wildhaus's Otto De Col got a free kick in the 28th minute. Fred Jenny's late challenge caught a New York City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fred Jenny helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of New York City booed when Wildhaus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Jenny didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Otto De Col hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reno Schultheiss struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Jose Murray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New York City. After 36 played minutes Wildhaus got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Schurter. If Jackson Quelch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Art Ceccarelli managed to get in a good position for a shot. New York City's supporters rose to their feet, but Art Ceccarelli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jose Murray breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Art Ceccarelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christoph Wy to strike the kick off in the second half. Jackson Quelch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christoph Wy in the 60th minute of play forced New York City's goalkeeper Fertus Fresnos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, New York City's Donald Keller sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jose Murray narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fertus Fresnos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcus Franceschini went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jackson Quelch in the 84th minute of play forced Wildhaus's goalkeeper Jose Murray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Art Ceccarelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Murray having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Donald Keller recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jose Murray. Donald Keller showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. After having played for 92 minutes, Jackson Quelch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New York City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jackson Quelch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jose Murray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jack Kamarche in the 94th minute of the match. Wildhaus's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
