Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sergio Junod started the match with the kick off. In the 8th minute Sergio Junod shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olof Waltispühl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pancho Hunzinger in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giovanni Rodel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olof Waltispühl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Junod, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Delsberg's Jokim Roos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giovanni Rodel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Ferris Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Delsberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferris Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Rodel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sergio Junod recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bastien Hoch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Bastien Hoch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Basel fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jokim Roos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jokim Roos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Rodel having to interfere. When Philippe Schreiber fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Basel's protests and gave Philippe Schreiber a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Basel getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Philippe Schreiber hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pancho Hunzinger was the one to do the kick off. Giovanni Rodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jokim Roos, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Basel's zone, Jokim Roos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Rodel came out of the goal and Jokim Roos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giovanni Rodel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pancho Hunzinger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pancho Hunzinger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jokim Roos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 69 minutes, Jokim Roos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Delsberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jokim Roos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jokim Roos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 73 minutes into the match, Delsberg's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Junod came free, but Olof Waltispühl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basel's Giovanni Rodel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jokim Roos in the 77th minute of play. Giovanni Rodel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jokim Roos in the 79th minute of the match. Spencer Bourdette made a great header on Delsberg's corner, it was just that Basel's Giovanni Rodel managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Delsberg booed when Basel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florin Winiker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jokim Roos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Rodel having to interfere. In the 88th minute Jokim Roos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Rodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Delsberg's Pancho Hunzinger in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Basel's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Delsberg getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jokim Roos hit a great ball. 2-1 became the score in the 95th minute when Jokim Roos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Delsberg walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
