Gerald Werfel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Grover Fankhauser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Gerald Werfel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Grover Fankhauser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 played minutes Hörhausen got a freekick which was hit by Gerald Werfel. In the 17th minute, Marc Migneault hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luca Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitja Hübscher in the 26th minute of play forced Steinhaus's goalkeeper Grover Fankhauser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marc Migneault's late challenge caught a Hörhausen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marc Migneault helped the player get up and apologised. Marc Migneault kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Joshua Kreyenbühl was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Steinhaus's Paul Fabich got a free kick in the 38th minute. When Steinhaus's Luca Mazza in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hörhausen's goalie prevented a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a defensive mix-up in Hörhausen's zone, Luca Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ignace Bärtschi came out of the goal and Luca Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gerald Werfel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 54 minutes into the match, Hörhausen's goalkeeper Ignace Bärtschi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ralf Schroeder. In a very dangerous position, a player in Steinhaus fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 58th minute. Penalty! In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Hörhausen. Joshua Kreyenbühl stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Grover Fankhauser. 2-0. If Mitja Hübscher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Mitja Hübscher left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hörhausen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitja Hübscher in the 77th minute of play forced Steinhaus's goalkeeper Grover Fankhauser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mitja Hübscher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd match minute, Steinhaus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Fabich to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Paul Fabich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steinhaus's Grover Fankhauser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mitja Hübscher in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitja Hübscher in the 90th minute of play forced Steinhaus's goalkeeper Grover Fankhauser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ignace Bärtschi was a little too slow when Paul Fabich got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 3-1. Steinhaus's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
