Maro Dionne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mike Spiess in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Magnus Frei saved Diepoldsau from getting behind. Daniele De Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 31st minute, Hans Enzel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luc Rogger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maro Dionne in the 33rd minute of the match. Mike Spiess sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luc Rogger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maro Dionne, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maro Dionne to make the kick off. Hans Enzel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Luc Rogger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Malans's Ian Schürch got a free kick in the 61st minute. Mike Spiess fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magnus Frei having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Malans's Davide Knechtli got a free kick in the 75th minute. Diepoldsau's Magnus Frei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniele De Souza in the 85th minute of play. Daniele De Souza struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Magnus Frei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malans. If Daniele De Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 95th minute of the match Pierre Buser sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Magnus Frei skillfully saved the ball.
