Michael Hébert hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 5th match minute, Atlantis United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Hébert to maneuver through the defense. Claude Neustadt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Enzel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Osvaldo Brasseur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Magnus Frei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maro Dionne scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claude Neustadt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Atlantis United's goal looked a bit too open when Maro Dionne came free, but Claude Neustadt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Diepoldsau's goalkeeper Magnus Frei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldo Brasseur. Claude Neustadt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maro Dionne in the 30th minute of the match. Maro Dionne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Claude Neustadt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claude Neustadt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Enzel in the 41st minute of the match. After having played for 46 minutes, Maro Dionne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diepoldsau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maro Dionne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The supporters of Atlantis United booed when Diepoldsau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kerwin Büchler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hans Enzel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Claude Neustadt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maro Dionne in the 63rd minute of play forced Atlantis United's goalkeeper Claude Neustadt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claude Neustadt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maro Dionne in the 66th minute of play. Maro Dionne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claude Neustadt having to make a save. Hans Enzel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Maro Dionne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Atlantis United's goal looked a bit too open when Maro Dionne came free, but Claude Neustadt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atlantis United's Claude Neustadt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maro Dionne in the 89th minute of play. Hans-Ruedi Isler charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hans-Ruedi Isler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stuart Jutz placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hans Enzel during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Atlantis United booed when Diepoldsau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Enzel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlantis United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 99th minute, when Maro Dionne scored to the left of an out of position Claude Neustadt, making the score, 1-2. The Diepoldsau supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Diepoldsau would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
