In the 12th minute Mike Witzig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Fiorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Gordy Zangger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th match minute, Gafien FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernand Perathoner to maneuver through the defense. Gafien FC's Ivan Jermann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christophe Gerber in the 17th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Fernand Perathoner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Sursee SC's Vito Mazzolimo tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Gordy Zangger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Jermann having to interfere. Ivan Jermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christophe Gerber in the 35th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Mike Witzig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gafien FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mike Witzig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Fiorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christophe Gerber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ivan Jermann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
Roby Summermatter was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 52nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ivan Jermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gordy Zangger, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Ronan Mela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Gordy Zangger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sursee SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After having played for 62 minutes, Horace Marois managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gafien FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horace Marois was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Sursee SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Gordy Zangger scored 4-0 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivan Jermann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gafien FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mike Witzig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Fiorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sursee SC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
