Spiringen were furious when Uriel Lehmann was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 25 minutes into the game, one of Spiringen:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 1-1 came through a penalty shot after 27 played minutes, when Chlötzlibieger:s Amadeus Beaudry calmly waited for Spiringen:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Art Helfenstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burkhard Lanbrigger, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Art Helfenstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamal Rütimann in the 35th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Chlötzlibieger's goal looked a bit too open when Jamal Rütimann came free, but Art Helfenstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jamal Rütimann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 61 played minutes Spiringen got a freekick which was hit by Berthold Brand. In the 72ndth minute of the game Emery Palorini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Spiringen's Jiri Bircher was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emery Palorini struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Jiri Bircher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chlötzlibieger. Emery Palorini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jiri Bircher having to interfere. When Rafael Hess fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chlötzlibieger's protests and gave Rafael Hess a yellow card for diving instead. After 89 played minutes Chlötzlibieger got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Hess. The audience was convinced that Falk Portmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jiri Bircher was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Many of Spiringen's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Spiringen may have spent more time on the ball, but Chlötzlibieger were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
