Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Arnaldo Suter started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Melano's Andre Gier got a free kick in the 4th minute. Gideon Aeberli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dario Doucet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Arnaldo Suter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Hans-Ruedi Steurer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gideon Aeberli in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dario Doucet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When FC Eschenbach's Bosco Bürgler in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Melano's goalie prevented a goal. Melano's Dario Doucet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bosco Bürgler in the 19th minute of play. Melano's Arnaldo Suter managed to work through FC Eschenbach's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Arnaldo Suter dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Adalbero Ferrante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Suter in the 29th minute of play forced FC Eschenbach's goalkeeper Hans-Ruedi Steurer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Peter Scarano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Melano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Eschenbach the free kick. A collision led to Melano getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Peter Scarano hit a great ball. Bosco Bürgler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Doucet having to interfere. Thommy Greter hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match.
After 51 minutes of play, FC Eschenbach's Bosco Bürgler made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dario Doucet was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Bosco Bürgler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Gideon Aeberli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Arnaldo Suter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans-Ruedi Steurer was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Enrique Nobs kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. FC Eschenbach's Hans-Ruedi Steurer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalbero Ferrante in the 65th minute of play. FC Eschenbach's Bosco Bürgler got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gideon Aeberli was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 94th minute, Louie Zeier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC Eschenbach had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
