If Erasmus Sauber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 5th minute Erasmus Sauber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mischa Rutsch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erasmus Sauber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the match, FCBeresina's John Jolicoeur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mischa Rutsch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Erasmus Sauber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mischa Rutsch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmus Sauber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FCBeresina's Erasmus Sauber got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. John Jolicoeur blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mischa Rutsch having to make a save. A collision led to FC Basel 1982 getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Thorsten Füglister hit a great ball. FCBeresina's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Istvan Mutach in the 26th minute. FCBeresina's Istvan Mutach was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mischa Rutsch in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thorsten Füglister kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After 34 minutes, John Jolicoeur made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Basel 1982's Mischa Rutsch tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Lutz Graf kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Erasmus Sauber's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mischa Rutsch was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. After 60th play minutes Erasmus Sauber shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Mischa Rutsch and just under the crossbar into goal. Mischa Rutsch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmus Sauber, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in FCBeresina fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! FCBeresina:s Pierre Gervoletti showed great skill when he stopped Silvan Mahler:s penalty. In the 72nd minute Erasmus Sauber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mischa Rutsch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John Jolicoeur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Mischa Rutsch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 minutes FCBeresina's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Silvan Mahler who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Gilli in the 92nd minute of play forced FCBeresina's goalkeeper Pierre Gervoletti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FCBeresina played a much better game than FC Basel 1982 and deserved their victory. The FC Basel 1982 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
