Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Christy Strauss took the kick off in the first half of the match. Hornussen SC's Guillaume Lautens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilles Rüttimann in the 3rd minute of play. Christy Strauss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hendrick Beck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute Hendrick Beck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Wespi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hendrick Beck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sven Wespi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Hendrick Beck ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven Wespi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Christy Strauss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Wespi having to interfere. In the 35thth minute of the game Hendrick Beck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sigriswil's Sven Wespi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Sigriswil's goal looked a bit too open when Christy Strauss came free, but Sven Wespi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hornussen SC's Hendrick Beck got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Christy Strauss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
In the 51st minute Christy Strauss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Wespi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillaume Lautens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilles Rüttimann in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Christy Strauss fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sven Wespi, passed just outside the right post. Christy Strauss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Sven Wespi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven Wespi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christy Strauss's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. If Hendrick Beck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven Wespi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hendrick Beck in the 71st minute. With a little luck, Sigriswil's Sven Wespi got control of the ball when Hendrick Beck tried to sneak it across the goal line. Christy Strauss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Wespi having to interfere. Christy Strauss struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Sven Wespi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hornussen SC. Otto Bohm made a great header on Hornussen SC's corner, it was just that Sigriswil's Sven Wespi managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match was over Hornussen SC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sigriswil throughout the match.
