Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Christophe Portmann started the match with the kick off. The audience was convinced that Christophe Portmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Fassbind was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the match, Catana FC's goalkeeper Steffen Allemann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charles Jolicoeur. Catana FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Charles Jolicoeur scored to the left of an out of position Steffen Allemann, making the score, 1-0. In the 16th minute, Donatello Brandini left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catana FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Bruno Fassbind took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christophe Portmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerrit Bregenzer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bruno Fassbind tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th play minute Charles Jolicoeur came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Steffen Allemann. 2-1. Steffen Allemann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebius Schnider, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christophe Portmann in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Fassbind saved Luzern FC from getting behind. Charles Jolicoeur's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Steffen Allemann firmly grabbed it by the left post. Charles Jolicoeur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Steffen Allemann made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eusebius Schnider in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steffen Allemann saved Catana FC from getting behind.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eusebius Schnider to make the kick off. Charles Jolicoeur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Charles Jolicoeur ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Steffen Allemann was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Christophe Portmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Bruno Fassbind made a huge save. In the 66th minute, Gerrit Bregenzer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joseph Buck hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Steffen Allemann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Jolicoeur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christophe Portmann in the 84th minute of play forced Luzern FC's goalkeeper Bruno Fassbind to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Fassbind was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Donatello Brandini capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Donatello Brandini really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Christophe Portmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catana FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christophe Portmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Fassbind breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerrit Bregenzer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Bruno Fassbind tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Catana FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Luzern FC had won, even though Catana FC had held more of the ball.
