When Amos Mändli came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the FC AARAU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amos Mändli couldn't finish the play. Amos Mändlis short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Ralf Doucet to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dominique Joho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Doucet having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dominique Joho in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ralf Doucet saved Lurtigen HC from getting behind. When Lurtigen HC's Olli Kastner in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC AARAU's goalie prevented a goal. Keith Lejeune took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matteo Belisle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olli Kastner made a kick off. Matteo Belisle struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Keith Lejeune didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lurtigen HC. Ralf Doucet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amos Mändli in the 61st minute of play. Matteo Belisle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olli Kastner did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Keith Lejeune 65 minutes into the match. Amos Mändli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lurtigen HC's Ralf Doucet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominique Joho in the 79th minute of play. The supporters of Lurtigen HC booed when FC AARAU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roby Sommerhalder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ralf Doucet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominique Joho in the 85th minute of play. When Valentin Luft fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lurtigen HC's protests and gave Valentin Luft a yellow card for diving instead. Valentin Luft hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Lurtigen HC's Ralf Doucet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominique Joho in the 88th minute of play. Olli Kastner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Keith Lejeune having to make a save. If Dominique Joho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC AARAU fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lurtigen HC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
