After 10 played minutes, Chiasso SC's Henrick Fabich shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Olympio Meyer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chiasso SC reached it. With a little luck, Chiasso SC's Toby Grob got control of the ball when Yvan Frueh tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Hölstein booed when Chiasso SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harvey Besse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olympio Meyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Finger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yvan Frueh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Toby Grob made a huge save. In the 30th minute, Ulrich Olivieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olympio Meyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Bühler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olympio Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Bühler in the 37th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hölstein's Rafael Picca got a free kick in the 38th minute. Chiasso SC's Henrick Fabich couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hölstein. Hölstein's Olympio Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Finger in the 43rd minute of play. When Chiasso SC's Dario Finger in the 49th minute got a chance for a shot 49th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hölstein's goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dominique Ascani was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Emiliano Bühler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chiasso SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emiliano Bühler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olympio Meyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dario Finger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Olympio Meyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Rasul Bur had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. During the 61st minute of the match Ulrich Olivieri completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ulrich Olivieri a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ulrich Olivieri hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hölstein's zone, Emiliano Bühler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olympio Meyer came out of the goal and Emiliano Bühler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Emiliano Bühler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Chiasso SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harvey Besse to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 76 minutes, Emiliano Bühler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chiasso SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Bühler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yvan Frueh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Dominique Ascani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Henrick Fabich hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Chiasso SC's zone, Flavian Grunewald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toby Grob came out of the goal and Flavian Grunewald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Emiliano Bühler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Harvey Besse managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chiasso SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harvey Besse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tony Rüttimann struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Olympio Meyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chiasso SC. In the 98th minute, Emiliano Bühler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chiasso SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
