A collision led to Dinamo ST Gallen getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Joe Ineichen hit a great ball. Dinamo ST Gallen's Giacomo Hecht got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Fahrwangen's goal looked a bit too open when Theo Netzer came free, but Alois Ambühl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Dinamo ST Gallen getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Claude Eglin hit a great ball. Cäsar Daecher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustus Kümin, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Theo Netzer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alois Ambühl made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Francisco Borer sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th match minute, Dinamo ST Gallen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claude Eglin to maneuver through the defense. Ellison Sforza hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Francisco Borer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dinamo ST Gallen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Borer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 40 minutes of play, Dinamo ST Gallen's Theo Netzer made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alois Ambühl was left in no man's land by his defense there!

If Theo Netzer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Kevin Egloff managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fahrwangen's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Egloff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cäsar Daecher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fahrwangen's Alois Ambühl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Borer in the 57th minute of play. When Theo Netzer came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Dinamo ST Gallen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theo Netzer couldn't finish the play. Theo Netzer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alois Ambühl having to interfere. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fahrwangen's goalkeeper Alois Ambühl, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 83rd minute Theo Netzer suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alxavier Emhardt during the 83rd minute. Dinamo ST Gallen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
