Gais's Mauritius Massey got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Guillaume Bärtschi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filippo Hachée was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the match, Sylvain Sprecher notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gais's Filippo Hachée. Gais's Filippo Hachée played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sylvain Sprecher in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute, Raffaello Wabe sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Gais's Filippo Hachée didn't even have to move. Filippo Hachée took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sylvain Sprecher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes of play, Thalkirch AC's Guillaume Bärtschi made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filippo Hachée was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lambert Meisterhans charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lambert Meisterhans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Thalkirch AC booed when Gais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lambert Meisterhans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
If Mauritius Massey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Sylvain Blattmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gais's supporters rose to their feet, but Sylvain Blattmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Homer Schläpfer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Homer Schläpfer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sylvain Blattmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th match minute, Thalkirch AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillaume Bärtschi to maneuver through the defense. Homer Schläpfer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mauritius Massey went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Homer Schläpfer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sylvain Blattmer in the 67th minute of the match. If Mauritius Massey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Thalkirch AC's zone, Mauritius Massey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Homer Schläpfer came out of the goal and Mauritius Massey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sylvain Sprecher in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filippo Hachée prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Filippo Hachée made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sylvain Sprecher in the 80th minute of play. Thalkirch AC's Homer Schläpfer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauritius Massey in the 82nd minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Gais's Mauritius Massey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Homer Schläpfer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2.
