In the 3rdth minute of the game Armin Federici who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ascona's Robby Galliker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Battista Gartenmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Earvin Geiger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Decimo in the 8th minute of the match. After having played for 10 minutes, Armin Federici managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armin Federici was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernesto Decimo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Earvin Geiger came out and tried to block the shot, but Ernesto Decimo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 30th minute. When Dominic Gilg fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ascona's protests and gave Dominic Gilg a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ascona's Dominic Gilg got a free kick in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Ascona's goal looked a bit too open when Armin Federici came free, but Robby Galliker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernesto Decimo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 40th minute.
