A well-hit corner resulted in Simon Lampart heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 16 played minutes FC Stadtclub got a freekick which was hit by Amir Rrahmani. 18 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Vitório Goiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Beat Hagenbuch. 20 minutes into the match, FC Stadtclub's Horatio Tobler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vitório Goiano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 22nd minute FC Stadtclub were awarded a corner. Tobias Caron went to the cornerflag to take it. Beat Hagenbuch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Vitório Goiano made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horatio Tobler in the 32nd minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Vitório Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabio Hesse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Gavin Giacomozzi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Hesse having to make a save. The supporters of FC Barcelona booed when FC Stadtclub was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horatio Tobler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elroy Kolb took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabio Hesse. Fabio Hesse dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 45th minute, Dorel Bordei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Laderoute sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sydney Baiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vitório Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beat Hagenbuch in the 57th minute of the match. Horatio Tobler struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Vitório Goiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Stadtclub. 70 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Beat Hagenbuch came free, but Vitório Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horatio Tobler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitório Goiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. FC Stadtclub's Fabio Hesse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sydney Baiano in the 75th minute of play. Vitório Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horatio Tobler in the 76th minute of play. Carlos Laderoute could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Fabio Hesse made a huge save. A collision led to FC Stadtclub getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Matthias Vrijdags hit a great ball. Beat Hagenbuch kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Horatio Tobler's late challenge caught a FC Barcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horatio Tobler helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes FC Stadtclub got a freekick which was hit by Horatio Tobler. FC Barcelona's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
