The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Moscia SC's Lars Schmid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simone Menz in the 7th minute of play. After some careless play in the Moscia SC defense, Olof Bolla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lars Schmid. The Moscia SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lars Schmid should have stopped the shot. Lars Schmid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vittoriano Nacht in the 11th minute of play. Juanito Mader's late challenge caught a THE MANIACS 1987's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juanito Mader helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute, Detlev Maurer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ceddric Bircher was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, THE MANIACS 1987's Karim Schmid got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Ceddric Bircher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fritz Bernardi in the 23rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Moscia SC's Lars Schmid got control of the ball when Olof Bolla tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th match minute, THE MANIACS 1987 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renatus Bolduc to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Bruno Vittiger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lars Schmid was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Vladimir Grach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37thth minute of the game Simone Menz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moscia SC's Lars Schmid was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 40 played minutes Moscia SC got a freekick which was hit by Justin Lamontagne. Ciro Battisti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Lars Schmid made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simone Menz in the 44th minute of play forced Moscia SC's goalkeeper Lars Schmid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Schmid made an important save on a dangerous shot by Boris Provoost in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After 52 minutes of play, THE MANIACS 1987's Ciro Battisti made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lars Schmid was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 54 played minutes THE MANIACS 1987 got a freekick which was hit by Simone Menz. In the 64th minute, Simone Menz made a precise shot to the right of Lars Schmid. Moscia SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Olof Bolla scored 5-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lars Schmid, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ciro Battisti hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 77th match minute, THE MANIACS 1987 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olof Bolla to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute of the match Charles Fries sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ceddric Bircher skillfully saved the ball. Ciro Battisti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars Schmid having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Simone Menz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Lars Schmid was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olof Bolla during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Moscia SC booed when THE MANIACS 1987 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olof Bolla didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 98th minute of the match, Charles Fries got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ceddric Bircher was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
