Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Georges De Scheper took the kick off in the first half of the match. Freddy Elssen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanick Lombaert having to interfere. Godfried Maeijnaerts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Refael Borglevens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Yanick Lombaert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddy Elssen, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Godfried Maeijnaerts blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Refael Borglevens having to make a save. Yanick Lombaert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georges De Scheper in the 18th minute of the match. Ciney's Georges De Scheper got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Rotselaar got a freekick which was hit by Brent Eli. Refael Borglevens made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Godfried Maeijnaerts sent off a good shot on target. Willem-Jan Leroy struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Refael Borglevens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rotselaar. In the 32nd minute, Freddy Elssen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ciney booed when Rotselaar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brecht Moreau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Georges De Scheper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Yanick Lombaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Georges De Scheper in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yanick Lombaert saved Rotselaar from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Godfried Maeijnaerts managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rotselaar's supporters rose to their feet, but Godfried Maeijnaerts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Refael Borglevens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Jorne Callaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Refael Borglevens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willem-Jan Leroy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yanick Lombaert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georges De Scheper, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Georges De Scheper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The shot was stopped by Yanick Lombaert but with some difficulty. The supporters of Ciney booed when Rotselaar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brent Eli didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ciney getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Izak Huytterhoeven hit a great ball. If Georges De Scheper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciney played a much better game than Rotselaar and deserved their victory. The Rotselaar players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
