Arthur Van den Driesch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Remie Philippaerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AFC Meerendre's Remie Philippaerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Van den Driesch in the 14th minute of play. When Ive Sterckmans fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Meerendre's protests and gave Ive Sterckmans a yellow card for diving instead. Ive Sterckmans kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Yanick Verhaghe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cedric Van Leemputte was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Arthur Van den Driesch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Artur D'haene might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Remie Philippaerts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When Niewerkerken's Arthur Van den Driesch in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AFC Meerendre's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to AFC Meerendre getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ive Sterckmans hit a great ball. In the 31st minute Yanick Verhaghe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cedric Van Leemputte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Arthur Van den Driesch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Olivier Teunis kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Cedric Van Leemputte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dominik Devaux in the 49th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arthur Van den Driesch to strike the kick off in the second half. Niewerkerken were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after AFC Meerendre's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jorden Caers took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Jorden Caers got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Remie Philippaerts quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Artur D'haene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 58 minutes, Artur D'haene managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Niewerkerken's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur D'haene was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Olivier Teunis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niewerkerken's Cedric Van Leemputte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yanick Verhaghe in the 65th minute of play. Remie Philippaerts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arthur Van den Driesch's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. If Artur D'haene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cedric Van Leemputte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yanick Verhaghe, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Dominik Devaux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Cedric Van Leemputte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yanick Verhaghe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cedric Van Leemputte having to interfere. After some careless play in the Niewerkerken defense, Dominik Devaux kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cedric Van Leemputte. The Niewerkerken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cedric Van Leemputte should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AFC Meerendre fans cheered their team off the field, for while Niewerkerken had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
