Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Arnaud Portmans took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 2 played minutes Vrede got a freekick which was hit by Olivier Sustens. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vrede fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! Hugo Geerts went to the wrong direction when Jose Wintermans was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. With a little luck, Vrede's Hugo Geerts got control of the ball when Wannes Van Den Wijngaert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alex Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olivier Sustens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Olivier Sustens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vrede's supporters rose to their feet, but Olivier Sustens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Claes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Geerts had great luck who in the 29thth minute grab hold of the ball when Arnaud Portmans from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 30 played minutes Vrede got a freekick which was hit by Thys Van Linthaudt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthias Van Geestel in the 34th minute of play forced Vrede's goalkeeper Hugo Geerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olivier Sustens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Alex Claes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olivier Sustens to strike the kick off in the second half. Francois Delen took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugo Geerts. Hugo Geerts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Olivier Sustens kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alex Claes. That made the score 1-1 in the 57 minute of play. Thys Van Linthaudt charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thys Van Linthaudt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Vrede was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thys Van Linthaudt to maneuver through the defense. Vrede's Hugo Geerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giles De Vriendt in the 69th minute of play. Hugo Geerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaud Portmans in the 72nd minute of play. Tony Boegaert hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Malegem's Alex Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Malegem from getting a goal against them. In the 83rd minute Arnaud Portmans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Geerts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute of the match, Olivier Sustens got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alex Claes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hugo Geerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthias Van Geestel in the 86th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Malegem's goalkeeper Alex Claes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Malegem fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vrede had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
