Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) KVSK Mechelen's Jon Figaro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Teo Du Bois left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KVSK Mechelen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Perry de Pelsmacker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roderik Kindts having to interfere. Luk Verdonk kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Teo Du Bois recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teun Omblet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Figaro in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute Teo Du Bois shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teun Omblet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augustijn Andriesens charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augustijn Andriesens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute, Augustijn Andriesens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see KVSK Mechelen's Jairo Oliveira in action when he in the 27th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Jon Figaro took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teun Omblet. Teun Omblet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some careless play in the FC Verdenne defense, Jon Figaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teun Omblet. The FC Verdenne fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teun Omblet should have stopped the shot. After having played for 39 minutes, Jon Figaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KVSK Mechelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jon Figaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jon Figaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 47 minutes of play, KVSK Mechelen's Teo Du Bois made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teun Omblet was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Perry de Pelsmacker to make the kick off. Jon Figaro struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Teun Omblet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KVSK Mechelen. Luk Verdonk hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After having played for 66 minutes, Jon Figaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KVSK Mechelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jon Figaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute, Jairo Oliveira made a precise shot to the right of Teun Omblet. FC Verdenne's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Jan-Joost De Metser was extremely unlucky when he, in the 75th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Teun Omblet was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Teo Du Bois showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 81 minute of play. When Teo Du Bois came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the KVSK Mechelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teo Du Bois couldn't finish the play. Teo Du Bois received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Teun Omblet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jon Figaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Jon Figaro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teun Omblet. Jon Figaro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. When the final whistle sounded KVSK Mechelen left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Verdenne.
