Sven Lijsens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isidoor Kerckmans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Douglas Cuejvers didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Komen's Reinaert Oosters broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 22 minutes into the match, Komen's Reinaud Uijterhoven sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joerie Van Parijs narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tijs De Geest received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. With 26 minutes on the clock, Diederick Bollaert commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 33 minutes into the match, Reinaud Uijterhoven had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joerie Van Parijs. KFC Knesselare's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reinaud Uijterhoven was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Joerie Van Parijs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tijs De Geest, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 40 played minutes KFC Knesselare got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Cuejvers. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tijs De Geest in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joerie Van Parijs saved KFC Knesselare from getting behind. Tijs De Geest received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
In the 57thth minute of the game Tijs De Geest who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KFC Knesselare's Joerie Van Parijs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 58 played minutes KFC Knesselare got a freekick which was hit by Matthis Van Den Hout. Tijs De Geest received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. KFC Knesselare's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
