In the 4th match minute, Fabri-potenza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantijn De Vleeschauwer to maneuver through the defense. Vaartkant's Dennis Vercauteren got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 8th minute Danny Breugelmans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andre Verhaghe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danny Breugelmans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andre Verhaghe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Breugelmans in the 24th minute of the match. Danny Breugelmans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Verhaghe having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Ernest Van den Ende was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fabri-potenza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vaartkant the free kick. In the 29th minute, Ernest Van den Ende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Dennis Vercauteren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andre Verhaghe. Fabri-potenza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dennis Vercauteren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Danny Breugelmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dennis Vercauteren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Andre Verhaghe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andre Verhaghe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Breugelmans in the 43rd minute of the match. Andre Verhaghe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Koninkx in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Constantijn De Vleeschauwer was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Vaartkant got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Valkenaers. Dennis Vercauteren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Verhaghe having to interfere. Andre Verhaghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Vercauteren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dennis Vercauteren struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Andre Verhaghe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vaartkant. Andre Verhaghe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danny Breugelmans in the 78th minute. Danny Breugelmans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Andre Verhaghe made a huge save. Andre Verhaghe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Vercauteren in the 86th minute of play. Jaspar Willems kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
