The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sclessin's Diederik Van Beetz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre-Olivier Coenen in the 7th minute of play. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind KFC Vottem's goalkeeper Seppe Van Hecke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maurice Van den Hoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sclessin booed when KFC Vottem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanny Van de Gaer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bertan Wery struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Seppe Van Hecke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sclessin. Jonathan Dewitte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seppe Van Hecke having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Jonathan Dewitte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bertan Wery sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute Stanny Van de Gaer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diederik Van Beetz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pierre-Olivier Coenen to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Sclessin's Antonio Van Casteren got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Pierre-Olivier Coenen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Diederik Van Beetz, 0-1. After 58 played minutes, KFC Vottem's Wouter Leers shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Diederik Van Beetz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in KFC Vottem reached it. Maurice Van den Hoff could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Diederik Van Beetz made a huge save. After 76 minutes of play, Sclessin's Jonathan Dewitte made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Seppe Van Hecke was left in no man's land by his defense there! Diederik Van Beetz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre-Olivier Coenen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diederik Van Beetz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre-Olivier Coenen in the 85th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel De Raedemaeker in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Seppe Van Hecke saved KFC Vottem from getting behind. Bertan Wery recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miguel De Raedemaeker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seppe Van Hecke having to interfere. Bertan Wery blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Seppe Van Hecke having to make a save. Although Sclessin had been in control for most of the match, KFC Vottem still came away with the win.
