An unexpectedly hard shot by Gökçen Songur in the 5th minute of play forced KAA Latem's goalkeeper Jasper Sutens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jasper Sutens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre-Olivier Kindermans in the 7th minute of play. Klaus De Witte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klaus Van Achten having to interfere. Klaus Van Achten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stefaan Abeloos in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Royal Sporting Army's goal looked a bit too open when Gilian Huijbrechts came free, but Klaus Van Achten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Royal Sporting Army's Klaus Van Achten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilian Huijbrechts in the 17th minute of play. In the 24th minute Klaus De Witte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klaus Van Achten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilian Huijbrechts received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Klaus Van Achten came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilian Huijbrechts slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 30th minute. If Bert Sybring had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilian Huijbrechts was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quillian Wijngaerts got free with Jasper Sutens in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Klaus Van Achten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robbie Van Eeckhout, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some careless play in the Royal Sporting Army defense, Diedrik De Haes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Klaus Van Achten. The Royal Sporting Army fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Klaus Van Achten should have stopped the shot. Klaus Van Achten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diedrik De Haes in the 67th minute of play. The supporters of KAA Latem booed when Royal Sporting Army was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Sevenans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Klaus Van Achten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefaan Abeloos in the 79th minute of the match. Royal Sporting Army's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilian Huijbrechts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 90th minute Gilian Huijbrechts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klaus Van Achten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klaus Van Achten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diedrik De Haes in the 92nd minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, KAA Latem's goalkeeper Jasper Sutens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Quillian Wijngaerts. Klaus Van Achten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilian Huijbrechts in the 97th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. KAA Latem had played much better football throughout.
